As we’ve recently reported, sources say Apple has already tapped the component manufacturers for the next-generation tablet, the iPad 3.
Internet sources report that Apple will begin using integrated circuits from a number of Taiwan manufacturers in an attempt to lower the cost on the iPad 3. It is doing so to make the next-generation tablet’s price point more competitive with other tablets that will be hitting the market soon.
While initial reports stated that the iPad 3 would be the first Apple device to be 4G capable, news seems to have sizzled out in this front. Though with Apple’s new research in improved battery life, a major hurdle in implementing 4G, the tech giant may have something up its sleeve.
The most substantiated rumor is the improved display for the iPad 3. It is believed that the tablet will receive retina-level resolutions. This would put the device head and shoulders above competitors. There have also been some reports that Apple is toying with glasses-free 3D technologies. Though the reports might be getting a little extra support because of the recent and on-going 3D craze.
