As Apple gears up for the release for the iPhone 5, allegedly, news of the iPad 3 is already beginning to roll in. While Apple, as per usual, hasn’t said anything about the development of the next-generation tablet. However, that hasn’t stopped the snoops in the iWorld from digging up some dirt on the device.
The hotttest news is that the iPad three will be the first Apple device to be 4G capable. While this rumor has some legs, many are still expecting the iPhone 5 to receive a 4G chip when it is released this fall. Yet, this may just be wishful thinking as Apple is unlikely to adopt the new technology with its next release. A lot of this hinges on the fact that 4G sucks power and cell phone batteries just aren’t up to tackling the job.
The other big news for the iPad is that it will receive retina-level resolution with the next release. Some information has already leaked that Apple is beginning to work with manufacturers to make this happen. Also fueling this rumor is the code found inside iOS 5 Beta that points to a vastly increased resolution that would be nearly impossible for any of the smaller iDevices to pull off.
The final rumor on the iPad 3 is that it will be getting the new A6 chip that Apple is currently having developed. With the company’s current legal woes with Samsung, makers of Apple’s A4 and A5 chips, it is believed that the tech giant will go with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. to produce the new chip.
